Why Vessel Fabricators Love Fit Up Bed Rollers

Fit up bed rollers are an extremely useful tool when joining heavy round objects together such as pipe or vessel components. Fit up bed rollers can be used to first align the two members being joined as optimally as possible using rollers that not only rotate the part, but can translate the part as well. When alignment is optimized, tack welds can be made to hold the components in place. Then, a mechanized welding head can be fed into the pipe or vessel component. The tack welded components can then be rotated and fully welded by the mechanized welding head. Fit up bed rollers are able to increase weld quality and weld repeatability while decreasing operator fatigue because of this.
